Shim Sham at Swing Cats

This Tuesday (Nov 18) we’re going to be having a Shim Sham class!  The Shim Sham is a dance routine that was once a tap routine, but now is a line dance popular among swing dancers, although there are many variations.  It is only about 10 phrases of choreography so it doesn’t take up a full song.  Typically when the choreography is over dancers grab a partner to finish the song.  It can be danced to several different songs, some popular ones are Tuxedo Junction by Erskine Hawkins or the Shim Sham Song by the Bill Elliot Swing Orchestra.
